Notes: CayKur is a fantastic tea. It's pronounced "Chai Ker." Making Turkish tea requires different steps than a typical tea. You use a Turkish tea pot, which consists of a small and big pot (çaydanlik). The small pot fits perfectly onto the top of the big pot.
Fill the big pot with water, and set it on the stove. Once the water is hot, pour it into the small pot that contains the loose tea leaves. Fill the pot as much as you can.
Refill the big pot and set it on the stove. Place the small pot on top of the big pot. Once the water in the big pot is hot, take it off the stove. In a tea cup (preferably a turkish one), pour the amount desired into the cup. Then take the big pot (with the hot water) and pour it over the brewed tea. This allows you to have the desired amount of strength. If you want it lighter, add less of the brewed tea.. and vice versa.
Turkish tea is very personalized... you can choose the intensity of your tea... which makes it a perfect tea to serve to guests! CayKur can be found online and purchased for around $7-10.
