Irish Breakfast from Camellia Tea Room

Type: Black
Flavor: Bold w/Slight fruity flavor
Appearance: Lots of medium size leaves
Leaf Color: Dark Brown
Temp: Best if brewed at 195-200F for 3 mins
Amount: 1 tea tsp per cup
Aroma: Bold and Dark
Depth: Very Dark
Quality: High

This is in my top two favorite teas. Irish Breakfast Tea is dark and hearty. When you drink it, it has a slight fruity undertone. I like to serve this tea with some cream and sugar. Irish Breakfast tea definitely differs from English Breakfast. English Breakfast has a more bitter taste from the tannins... while Irish Breakfast is rounder and smooth. But, like English breakfast, if you over steep it, it can become bitter from the release of too much tannins.

My mom purchased this tea from Camellia Tea Room in Benicia, CA. It's a  delightful little tea room that serves afternoon teas and lunch. Camellia Tea Room carries a large selection of loose leaf tea, as well as tea accessories. This Irish Breakfast tea went perfectly with their homemade scones, Devon cream and strawberry jam.

Tea Review: PG Tips by PG Tips

Type: Black
Flavor: Bold and Earthy
Appearance: In a pyramid shaped tea bag
Leaf Color: Dark Brown
Temp: Best if brewed at 200-208F for 2-3 mins
Amount: 1 tea bag per cup
Aroma: Earthy and bold
Depth: Very Dark
Quality: High

This is my top favorite tea. I drink at least 3 cups of this a day. PG Tips originated in the 1930's. It's one of the most popular teas in Britain.

Because of their pyramid shape, the tea steeps more evenly. It gives more room for the tea to infuse.

The taste is fantastic. It's dark and bold... It goes well with a splash of milk and some sugar. I use sugar cubes.. but if I want it low calorie, I use stevia. You can find this at certain grocery stores... They usually only come with 60-80 tea bags for $6. I get my PG Tips in bulk for about $20 off Amazon. I get 480 tea bags, because it comes in a set of two(with each containing 240 bags). They get their teas from Ceylon.

This is a nice white tea from Lipton. This is a mix of white tea and tropical hints from the mango, and sweet hints from the peaches.

This tea is in pyramid shaped sachets, and costs about $4 at your local grocery store. There are 18 tea bags. It does contain a trace amount of Potassium... so it's nice to drink when you're feeling 'under the weather'.

"Pure Leaf Iced Green Tea with Citrus uses mildly smoky, single-origin Indonesian green tea blended with bold bursts of natural citrus flavors and real pieces of oranges. The rolled green tea leaves with real orange pieces and blades of lemongrass and rose hips deliver an extraordinarily refreshing iced green tea with a tart citrus flavor."

This tea can be found at your local grocery store for about $4. Since it's a green tea, be sure to use a lower temperature to steep. If you go any higher than 185F, it can get bitter. There's 16 pyramid shaped sachets of tea in each container.

This is a wonderful tea from Teavana. This tea has a fruity scent, with a tropical twist. There's mango, hibiscus, orange, and rose petals blended throughout the tea. It's got a slight punch of caffeine, but not too much to give you the jitters.

I absolutely adore this tea. It's got a nice strong, sweet taste. It's very enticing and is a great tea to start with, if you're new to tea.

You can find this tea at your local grocery store for about $5.50. It comes with 15 pyramid shaped sachets.

Tea Cup: Perfect Pansy

This is my teacup, 'Perfect Pansy.' This is a handmade, hand painted teacup. I got this at a specialty thrift store. This store only carries teacups and other fine china.

'Perfect Pansy' is cream colored, with yellow and purple pansies. It also has some leaves behind the pansies. This teacup has a unique gold border and some gold accents.

This teacup was made in '53, and has the name 'Montgomery' etched into the bottom. I got it for $4. The saucer is pretty delicate and has some cracks, so it's hard to wash.
